About Final Measure
Trade experience. Independent judgement.
Independent inspections and evidence-led reports on internal plastering, dry lining, external rendering and EWI workmanship.
Experience that understands the trade
Final Measure’s founder began with a plastering apprenticeship and has spent over 30 years working in the industry. Extensive hands-on experience, alongside managing construction businesses, provides a practical foundation for independent defect inspections, second opinions and commercial reviews.
That background covers silicone render, monocouche, traditional rendering, internal plastering and external wall insulation systems. It informs advice that considers not only the proposed finish, but also preparation, sequencing, workmanship and the commercial context.

Evidence that can be examined and challenged
Our value is not a title or a predetermined verdict. It is the ability to document specialist workmanship observations so another contractor, surveyor, manufacturer or adviser can see the evidence, the technical basis and the limits of the opinion. Trade experience supports judgement; it does not replace proof.
- Dated site observations and clearly located photographs
- Crack widths and other measurements recorded with method where actually measured
- Exact manufacturer, specification or standard edition and clause/page when relied upon
- Observable facts kept separate from possible causes and disputed assertions
- Clear findings, alternative explanations, uncertainties and proportionate actions
A document is only cited as checked when its relevant edition and section have actually been reviewed. Missing information is disclosed; an inspection cannot certify concealed work or establish legal liability.
A considered, independent approach
We inspect visible defects, review project information and provide impartial observations when contractors, builders or homeowners disagree about workmanship. Each appointment is considered for potential conflicts of interest, and the scope and limitations of our work are made clear from the outset.
As the consultancy grows, the focus remains the same: specialist knowledge, clear communication and useful recommendations.
